Medical emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere. Knowing basic first aid before ambulance arrives can save lives and reduce permanent damage. Whether you’re at home, on the road, or at work, staying calm and acting fast is crucial.
✅ 1. Ensure Your Own Safety First
Before assisting the patient, make sure the scene is safe. If you’re in a traffic zone, fire area, or near electric sources, step back and secure your surroundings. Because if you’re unsafe, you can’t help anyone.
✅ 2. Check the Patient’s Response
Try to talk to the person or gently tap their shoulder. If there is no response, check for signs of breathing. If breathing is absent, start CPR only if trained. Otherwise, put the person in a safe position and wait for help.
✅ 3. Control Bleeding (If Any)
Use clean cloth, bandage, or your hands with gloves to apply direct pressure on any bleeding wound. Moreover, elevate the injured area if possible to reduce blood flow.
✅ 4. Support Breathing With Positioning
If the person is breathing but unconscious, turn them on their side (recovery position). This helps prevent choking. For breathing difficulties, sit them upright and loosen tight clothing.
